For the first time in the Middle East and with the collaboration with OMSB, The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) celebrated on October 6, 2019 the graduation of Omani and Gulf doctors who have completed their 1-2 years fellowship training in RCPI. The graduation ceremony was held under the auspices of H. E. Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health. The graduation of 37 GCC doctors took place in Muscat.


The ceremony commenced with a welcoming speech by H. E Minister of Health, followed by a speech delivered by Prof. Mary Horgan, RCPI President and concluded with awarding the graduation certificates to the graduated doctors.


It is worth mention that OMSB sends a number of Omani doctors annually to study at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, where 28 doctors have completed their fellowships and seven doctors are still undergoing training.


Among the specialties that OMSB provide scholarships for Omani doctors are: Cardiology, Neurology, Infectious diseases, Rheumatism as well as Pediatric Medicine, Respiratory diseases, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric endocrinology … etc.
