The Oman Medical Specialty Board hosted Her Highness Dr. Mona Bint Fahad Al Said - Assistant Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation - on Sunday, October 18, 2020, through video communication, to present a motivational speech to female employees of the Oman Medical Specialty Board on the role of women in society. This celebration comes within the Sultanate’s celebrations of Omani Women's Day and in order to highlight their role and achievements.

During her speech, Her Highness Dr. Mona appreciated the role of Omani women in serving the nation and stated: “Our meeting today comes in exceptional and new circumstances that we have not been familiar with before, circumstances that I do not think will stop us from continuing to give, with your efforts and perseverance, your unbending faith and unrelenting insistence on continuing to serve Oman ... ''

She also said, “The features of the era in which we live have provided women with a wider scope for work. They have enabled us to specialize in various fields of knowledge. We stand today at a pivotal stage in the history of our beloved Oman, and we feel delighted and proud of the Omani woman who succeeded in preserving the values ​​of her society, civilization and glorious history. The happy era of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may God protect him - places great responsibilities on us and great tasks to complete the journey as expected from us, and we must assume the position that we have been assigned to and fulfill our responsibilities towards society.”


During her speech, Her Highness Dr. Mona Al Said congratulated the employees of the Oman Medical Specialty Board on this special occasion to every Omani woman, and praised the role they play in this pioneering institution in higher medical education. She highlighted that this role dictates that the female employees work at a faster pace and with great effort to participate in establishing a better future for Oman.


Her Highness added that as the medical education sector has become a suitable environment for Omani women, they have proven their excellence in all medical specialties that they have joined, and have made great contributions and achievements in the health sector and all other sectors. The biggest example of women contributions is the new Corona virus pandemic that is spreading worldwide at present. It is found during the spread of the epidemic that Omani women working in the health sector are in the first line of defense to confront this disease, rolling up their arms to contribute to the service of the local and international community with the best efforts and sacrifices.


The Oman Medical Specialty Board celebrates Omani Women’s Day every year by hosting prominent Omani female figures who have participated in various fields in serving Oman and the society.
