Requirements for acceptance in OMSB Residency Training Programs:

1.  The applicant must be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine & Surgery or equivalent from a recognized university.
2.  The applicant must have completed a year of internship.
3.  The applicant must be medically fit for the training.
4.  The applicant must pass the OMSB selection examination.
5.  The applicants must provide three letters of recommendation from three consultants/senior consultants with whom he/she has worked confirming his/her ability and capability of training.
6.  The applicant must complete all application documents.
7.  The applicant must pass the interview.
8.  The recommended applicant must obtain no objection from his/her sponsor to join OMSB residency training program for the entire duration of the training.

After the approval of OMSB, the Education Committees may add other conditions, oral or written exams, or tests for admission. The Residents are selected as per OMSB rules & regulations and available slots.

In order for the Admission and Registration Office to make an admission decision, all documents must be received by the application deadline.


Required Documents

Please provide the following:
1.  Approved Application Form (Signed and stamped by sponsor)
2.  OMSB Declaration Form
3.  Curriculum Vitae (OMSB format)
4.  Personal statements-based on your choices
5.  Photocopy of the Basic Science Certificate & transcript (if obtained)
6.  Photocopy of the MD certificate & transcript
7.  Photocopy of the internship certificate
8.  Photocopy of the ID card & the passport
9.  Three (3) recommendation letters in the field of interest from consultants you worked with
10.  Photocopy of immunization report and screening reports of HBSAg, Anti-HBC, Anti-HBS, Anti-HCV & HIV (should be valid for six months or less)
11.  Photocopy of valid BLS and ACLS certificates
12.  Photocopy of any entry examination, international or other postgraduate examinations (if applicable)
13.  Three (3) passport size photographs with blue background


Admission Deadline

Application Term:
Open:  November
Closed:  December 

* No application will be processed after the deadlines.
* Changing the priority of your choices will not be considered after the deadline of application

Act of Dishonesty: 

All applicants applying to OMSB Residency Training Programs are expected to follow the Admission rules and regulations. Applicants found to have misrepresented themselves or submitted false information on the application is ground for rejection of the application, withdrawal of any offered acceptance, cancellation of enrollment, or other appropriate disciplinary action.

General Instructions

The names of the Residents accepted for admission in one of the training programs, together with their “Release Qarars”, shall be sent to OMSB. Registration must be completed no later than one month prior to the beginning of the training year. 

All Residents who are enrolled in one of the OMSB Medical Specialty Training Program and who wish to continue their training must register with the OMSB one month prior to the beginning of each training year. A Resident is not permitted to register in more than one training program of the OMSB at a time. 

The Resident or his/her sponsor shall undertake to pay the annual training fees prescribed by the OMSB.
