OMSB OCCUPATIONAL CLASSIFICATION EXAMINATIONS:
The Ministry of Health and other public or private institutions use OMSB Occupational Classification exams for licensing purposes. In other words, to be able to work for the MoH and other Health Service Institutions, a candidate must sit for OMSB exams. Currently, OMSB delivers 35 Occupational Classification examinations for physicians, technologists and technicians. All OMSB examinations are available online at most Prometric centers or other affiliated centeres worldwide, so candidates can do OMSB exams at their countries. This service help candidates to save time, cost and facilitates scheduling their exams. Besides, OMSB exams qualify all candidates to proceed with oral examinatins and obtain the Medical License.

EXAMINATION TIMETABLE:
OMSB exams availability is open all days except weekends and official holidays. However, candidates can select their exam appointments on all the working days depending on the testing centers. Furthermore, all candidates can schedule their OMSB exams at anytime during 24 hours/day. Please refer to Frequently asked questions for further information.

ELIGIBILITY:
All candidates can schedule the exam without any eligibility fees or prior application. Candidates will pay only the exam fee.

EXAM BLUEPRINTS:
The exam blueprint includes the nature of exam and the reference titles. Candidates can download the blueprints and view them. Please click on your examination to download the exam blueprint:

SCORING AND RESULTS:
All examinees will be provided with score report upon their exam completion at the testing center. Score report will be given only once right after the exam and lose or misuse is the sole responsibility of the candidate. There will be no possibility of re-issuing another score report. However, the candidate may request for a certification letter not more than a one (1) month from the day of the exam and a fee will be applied.

CERTIFICATION LETTER:
Candidates who lose, misuse or for any purposes can apply for a certification letter. They need to provide their copy of passport and fill up section A of the attached form. To apply for certification letter, Please download the Certification letter.

EXAM PASSING SCORES:
Please be informed that OMSB exam passing scores are different from exam acceptence score. In general the average acceptance score is 60%. Please refer to Frequently Asked Questions file for further information.

4. How can I register for the exam?
  The steps/process of registration is as follows:
 
Process of Registration for OMSB Exams:

1 Go to Prometric website at www.prometric.com

2 Click Schedule My Test

3 Enter the sponsor name and type OMSB

4 Click OMSB – Oman Medical Specialty Board

5 Click Schedule My Test

6 Locate Oman in the country selection and click next

7 Read the Information Review and click next

8 Read the Privacy Policy Review and tick I agree or I disagree and click next

9 Eligibility Information: Tick No and click next

10 Appointment Selection: Select your specialty

11 Test Center Location: Type Muscat, Oman and click Schedule an Appointment beside the 8764, OMSB address

12 Read the Prometric Biometric Consent and tick I agree

13 Date and Time Selection: Select the month you desire to take the exam and click Go

14 Select you desire available date and time and click next

15 Kindly input additional information. Note: All blanks that have asterisk must be filled up.

16 Payment is through Visa, MasterCard, or American Express

19 Once you have successfully registered, an email from Prometric will be sent to you, Confirmation Letter. Kindly read that carefully for details regarding identifications that you need to bring in your test date.

As we are not doing registration in the center, the candidate can call the Regional Registration Center at +31 320 239 530 for registration difficulties.

10. I have difficulty making an appointment. Is there any way to register other than going through the website?
  Although going through the website is the easiest way, you can also contact the Regional Registration Center for your registration.
 
11. How far in advance do I need to register for the exam?
  The nearest available date will be shown to you once you have started the registration. For OMSB exam, if you start the registration this week, you can see the available dates for next week. The available dates are highlighted in website.
 
12. How many times am I allowed to take the test?
  You can take the exam up to three times in one calendar year.
 
13. Rescheduling:
  Call the Regional Registration Center and/or visit www.prometric.com at least five (5) full calendar days before your appointment. The candidate will be charged around 40 $ for rescheduling. 

14. Cancellation:
  Contact the Regional Registration Center and/or visit www.prometric.com at least 3 full calendar days.
 
15. If I cannot get the date I want, what can I do?
  Contact the Regional Registration Center.

16. Do I need an eligibility ID in order to schedule an exam?
  No. It is not required. You must tick “No” during the Eligibility Information section for you to proceed with the registration without having the eligibility ID. If it still persists, try changing your browser.

17. What is the identification that I must bring on my test date?
  Examinees must bring a valid passport and must be issued by government, has signature, a personal image and be valid. In case that the passport has no signature, bring a secondary form of ID that presents the signature. The examinee should bring a copy of his/her confirmation letter as well.
Note: When you go to the testing center, you should take with you the same form of identification that you used to register with, your Passport. At check in, this will be verified and if the ID does not match, you may be refused testing. OMSB will not accept candidates who have not completed this information and failure to do so may result in your result being withheld.
 
8. Where can I put my belongings whilst having my exam?
  We have available lockers inside the test center.
 
19. I am on medication. Is it possible that I can bring my medication inside the test room?
  No. But you go outside if you desire to take your medication or you want to take a break. Food drinks, and/or medications are not allowed inside the test room.
 
20. Do I have a scheduled break?
  No.

21. If I don’t have a break and I go out, what will happen with my exam time?
  The time that you go out for a break will be counted from your exam time, but it doesn’t mean that you cannot take a break.
 
22. I am not good at computers. Will there be a tutorial before the exam?
  There is a tutorial before you can start the exam. In case of technical issues, you can ask for the assistance of the test center administrator.
 
23. Do I get a certificate from the center after my test?
  The center will provide you a score report.
 
24. Can I have more than one copy of the score report?

26. If I am not happy with my result, can I retake?
  Yes, you can take the exam up to three times per one calendar year.
